I have not had a cigarette since 10:00pm Sunday April 22. I'm doing surprisingly well and have realized that quitting was easier than I imagined.
I had quit smoking for a year about 6 years ago and gained about 40 pounds. Since then I've gained another 20. So the plan is to quit smoking and lose 60 pounds by the end of the year. First goal is to lose 20 pounds by July 6 when I am going on a rafting trip and will be seen in public in a swimwuit. I carry my weight well but can't belive I'm over 200 pounds now.
Mostly I'm getting healthier because I am planning on getting pregnant later this year. I'd like to drop as much weight as possible prior to getting pregnant so it will be easier to lose the baby weight afterwards.
I am so sore today that it is taking all my willpower to go back to the gym, but I refuse to give in. Sunday is my rest day and today's workout is 60 minutes on the treadmill.
I'm hanging in there and look forward to seeing some results!!
