Blog start - I am starting this blog to hopefully look back and see the progress I've made over a year's time. I started the new year weghing in at 240 lbwith a 5'7" height and a slightly stocky frame. I estimate a good weight for me would be 190 lbs or there-a-bouts. I will be happy if I break 210 lbs as I haven't seen that in 4years.

Also, If I haven't made a blog entry or am slacking in anyway, I'm also hoping someone will chime in and help me hold me accountable for failing my new year's resolution which is to be more fit 'for life' and not just for this year.

One of the things I'm trying this year to keep things interesting is to take up 'Cycling'. Someone mentioned to me that getting a bicycle would get me into shape, especially since I've devloped foot pain while walking on the treadmill. The kind doctor explains it is plantar's fasciitis but doesn't say it will go away soon enough to make any progress anytime soon.

So far, I've logged a few miles on the exercise bike at the fitness center (26 mi) ad 4 mi around the block on a $20 bike from a pawn shop waiting for my new bike to come in. I had to go with a special size since my legs are short and so I ordered a "Giant" brand road bike from a local bike store. I'vealso joind 'strava.com't keep rack of my goals and metrics training.

So far I've lost 5 lbs this month since Jan 1st. Here's to a new year of firsts for us all.
