Yesterday was a bad day. I served up hamburger steaks, mashed potatoes w/brown gravy, brussels sprouts, and Sara Lee classic dinner rolls for my husband. For dessert, I baked mini blueberry muffins. He loved it! The problem? So did I! Ugh.

Lesson learned. I have planned a high protein snack for the afternoon and will eat my high protein meal before he eats. Then I will sit and enjoy his company while he eats without feeling overly deprived. LOL (I'm cooking spaghetti w/meatballs and garlic bread. Yum! But I won't be having any. I have already blown a major gasket in my meal plan for the day with my breakfast. I had leftovers. On the upside, I've planned a hardy workout and meal plan for the rest of the day to counter my A.M. slip.

As far as logging every bite, so far so good. I've also been diligent about logging my workouts. So, I'll take those victories and build on them. Re: the moral of today's mess up? Well, I'm going to add a new habit to my agenda. Starting today, I'm going to try and have my meals planned, at least, one day in advance. Our limited grocery budget forces me to be a little creative. So, I will. And I'm going to reach my goal by practicing these new habits every day. I'm actually kinda glad that I didn't qualify for the lapband surgery. I'm having to learn a healthy lifestyle. And knowing myself, I don't think that I would have done that should I have been able to get the surgery.
