Directions:  
Preheat oven to 350. Line a baking sheet with parchment (or lightly grease).

In a large bowl combine dry ingredients and mix well with a fork. Form a well in center and pour in 1 ½ cups buttermilk. Stir mixture with fork and gradually remaining ½ cup of buttermilk. Mix until dry ingredients are absorbed and a rough ball of dough forms. Dough should be “tacky” not “sticky”. Add a few Tbsp flour if needed.

Knead dough 5 times in a bowl, shape dough into a round loaf place on prepared baking sheet and flatten into an 8-inch round no more than 1 ¼ inches high in the center. With a sharp knife, cut a 6 inch “X” and ¼ inch deep into the surface. Pour melted butter into cut and bake until knife inserted comes out clean. 30 - 40 minutes.
