Directions:

Saute Onion and Bell pepper till soft and mostly transparent

Add Ham, Beans, Water, Salt, Sugar, Molasses, Creole seasoning and bring to a boil. *Note: I use a home made creole seasoing recipe that I found online

Using a fork or utensil of your choice smash some of the beans to thicken the mixture to desired level

Reduce heat to a simmer and cover for 20 plus minutes.

While mixture is simmering prepare enough rice for 2 cups cooked as directed

put rice in a bowl and spoon bean mixture over rice or just mix it all together.
